Illustrated by Rackham with thirty mounted color plates on heavy brown paper each with a titled tissue-guards. Published in 1911 by William Heinemann and Doubleday-Page, London, and New York and printed by Ballantyne & Co. Ltd., London.
Condition: 4to, 11 1/2″ x 9 1/2″ gilt-pictorial vellum, top-edge gilt, silk ties. Numbered One Hundred Seventy Nine Of 1150 Copies, translated by Margaret Armour and SIGNED BY ARTHUR RACKHAM as called for on the Limitation page. Publishers’ Cream-colored vellum binding, gilt stamped decorations on front cover and spine still bright. A bit of toning and soiling to the edges, a small tear to the front silk tie, foxing to the endpapers, preliminary and a few interior pages. A small gold bookseller’s label on the lower rear endpaper. Overall, one of the nicer examples of this sought after Rackham title available on the market today.
