Harry Houdini (1874–1926) was a legendary magician and escape artist known for his daring feats of escaping from handcuffs, straitjackets, water tanks, and other confined spaces.

His most famous acts include the Chinese Water Torture Cel and the  Milk Can Escape. Besides his escape artistry, Houdini also exposed fraudulent spiritualists who claimed to communicate with the dead.

He is remembered as one of the greatest entertainers in history, famed for his death-defying stunts and skepticism toward the supernatural. Houdini was also an avid book collector of rare and early texts detailing Magic and Witchcraft. It is very uncommon to find a book that belonged to the legendary magician.
