During the period 1970-77 the Poem of the Month Club issued an unpublished poem by a British poet each month. The first 1000 copies of each poem were signed by the poet personally by hand. British crime writer and poet Julian Symons was born in 1912 in London, England. He founded the poetry magazine Twentieth Century Verse in 1937 and edited it for two years before turning his attention to crime novels.
