Bound in red cloth pictorial covers with stamped gilt lettering on the spine and front cover. There is bumping to the lower front fore-edge corner and very light rubbing visible to the covers. The covers are protected by a clear Mylar dust jacket. The binding is tight and square. The text block is adorned with gilt edges and patterned endpapers. A tissue-guarded frontispiece portrait depicts “The Constitution and Gurriere.” The pages show mild age toning and scattered light foxing, mostly visible on the preliminaries. This work includes numerous illustrations of Silliman’s travels and American history. This work contains a publisher’s catalog leaf. The volume is protected by a black cloth-covered slipcase.
