This beautiful book contains the biographies of 28 Important woman through our history that made a great impact on the world. Each biography contains a full plate illustration of the woman it is about. There are biographies on Marie Antoinette, Pocahontas, Martha Washington, Florence Nightingale, Mary Queen of Scotts, and more.

The book is ornately bound in full leather that is heavily embossed with intricate borders that are also gilt. There are 5 raised bands to the spine, with gilt titles, embossed and gilt compartments, and gilt edges to the pages. The inside fold over of the binding has an intricately gilt pattern to it. Inside there are very bright marbled endpapers, a full color title page in blue-red-gold-black, and the 28 full-page illustrated plates.

In Very Good condition with some shelf wear to the boards, rubbing to the bottom boards, rubbing to the raised bands (especially the bottom band), slightly cocked, and bumped corners. Inside there is some light toning in places, a couple pieces of the plates protective paper is loose, some light smudges in places, and there is a page where the imprint of a pressed flower remains.
