John Steinbeck’s The Forgotten Village (1941) is a unique blend of literature and documentary filmmaking. This fascinating work was originally conceived as a screenplay for a film Steinbeck co-created, which depicted life in a traditional Mexican village. The book expands on the film with additional narrative and stunning black-and-white photographs taken during production, offering a compelling glimpse into the daily lives and traditions of the villagers.

As a first edition, this book holds great appeal for collectors of Steinbeck’s works and fans of cultural anthropology.
